The “disappearance” and “appearance” of people in each other’s lives is like magic created by the gods.

Jack is a magician who specializes in the water cell escape. After a medical accident caused the deaths of his wife, Minnie, and their unborn child, Jack falls into a state of deep depression and rage. Devastated at the loss of his beloved, Jack decides to spend everything he has to sue Minnie’s primary physician, Dr. Kam.

To afford the enormous legal fees, Jack takes a huge risk by going to an underground casino and use his magic skills to win at the gambling table. By accident, he wins a village house owned by down-and-out gambler Mr. Kwok.

The village house is located on the southern coast of Lantau Island. When Jack steps inside, the vast view of the sea gives his heart a sense of peace that he hasn’t felt in forever. Suddenly, a surprise guest appears in the house – David, a boy with Down’s Syndrome.

Jack discovers that David is the late Mr. Kwok’s son. Mr. Kwok’s body was found on the sea one week prior, after he committed suicide. David had been sent to live with his uncle, but he runs back to the village house every day at the same time, rain or shine.

Jack learns that though David isn’t good at communicating, he’s actually quite clever. Not only does he love magic; he also remembers all of his father’s teachings, and he is loaded with self-confidence. However, he does have a strange habit of collecting cloths of all sizes. It turns out that this strange habit originated from a secret pact he made with his father.

Feeling guilty over what happened to Mr. Kwok, Jack lets David stay with him in the house. However, Jack didn’t expect that this child would gradually become an important part of his life. Can this rage-filled magician let go of the resentment in his heart and join hands with David to present the most wonderful magic trick in life?
