    • Synopsis
    • 2004 Bosnia. Hresa a small town in the Serbian area overlooking Sarajevo.
Pero, a 43-year-old boorish shepherd, never recovered from the 1992-1995 war, and lives alone on jobs given to him by his uncle, Stjepan, former head of a particularly fierce special unit during the war.
To everyone's surprise, Tatjana, 56, a Bosnian Serb who took refuge in France during the war, comes to recover and renovate a house in the small town that belonged to her husband Hajrudin, a Muslim who disappeared at the start of the war in unclear circumstances. . She is accompanied by her son Liga, her daughter Elvira, and Gilles and Luna - husband and daughter of Elvira.
At the same time, wolves attack the sheep of the surrounding farms.
Eager to help Tatjana in her installation project, Pero comes to see her, and he is invited to her home.
He is deeply troubled when Luna, Tatjana's granddaughter, shows him a photograph of her grandfather. Pero recognizes Hajrudin, one of the Muslims whom Stjepan, Dragan, Vaso, and other local Serbs murdered in cold blood in 1992. Pero was present that evening but, too drunk, had not fired.
However, he feels guilty for this collective murder and continues to help Tatjana, offers her renovation equipment, connects her to a wild source, and begins a friendly relationship with her.
But the other Serbs in the area, Stjepan in the lead, are doing everything to drive out the "bastards", because many risk a lot if the war crime perpetrated during the war is revealed in broad daylight.
The tension rises very quickly, the wolf attacks intensify, the young Liga begins to investigate the disappearance of his father. Pero, not listening to his uncle Stjepan's injunctions, defends Tatjana.
Some men begin to side with the shepherd and dream of collective redemption. For others, Pero's attitude represents an imminent danger.
Violence erupts. Serbs attempt to assassinate Pero and set fire to the house of the “bastards”.
Pero understands that the small community will find peace only when the accounts of the past are settled. He goes to the court of Sarajevo with the project of denouncing himself, to carry alone the past crime...
