    • Synopsis
    • In the mid 50's, the young Sara Facio discovered that photography is an art, a way of seeing, a way of thinking. With the same passion and freedom, she captured anything from historical events with worldwide impact to details of daily life in cities, particularly Buenos Aires, her city. A feminist, a pioneer in activities reserved for men, such as photojournalism, she dramatically and representatively illustrated two essential moments in the Argentine political history: the arrival of Juan Domingo Perón at Ezeiza after 18 years of exile, a moment named "La masacre de Ezeiza" and later the death of the president and his popular burial. Like nobody else, she was able to synthesize all the joy and sadness a people lived in less than three years. Among many other creations, Sara also made portraits of great poets, writers such as Pablo Neruda, Jorge Luis Borges or María Elena Walsh, and of the so-called Latin American boom of the 1960's, such as Julio Cortázar or García Márquez, giving a face to those words. Woman, photographer, curator and editor, Sara, whenever she wanted, "she was there".
