- Synopsis
- set in Kampos village in Chios island, Greece - Pavlos is a skilled but poor violinist from Ikaria, who works in folk festivals all over Greece. In Chios island, he falls in love with a country girl Meropi, who, having grown up in a conservative family does not immediately respond to his flirtation, until he makes songs for her and sings them in the festival in front of everybody and sings to her under her family house window at night, while being afraid that her father will wake up. When they finally fall in love, they have to persuade her father who is old-fashioned, to break the engagement with a rich young entrepreneur he has made for her against her will, so as to make sure she has a good life,instead of marrying the poor musician. But in the end love finds the way.
