    • Synopsis
    • The film tells the story of a poetry group Lonely Runners, formed in 1963 and still active. More than anything, it is about the extraordinary friendship of its three members – Ivan Laucik, Peter Repka and Ivan Štrpka. Their personal history may be different: Peter Repka moved to Germany in the seventies, Ivan Laucik lived most of his life in the peaceful Liptovsky Mikulas and Ivan Strpka in Bratislava. Even though their meetings were rare and often difficult to realize, their friendship held strong despite all the obstacles. It survived all the brutal political changes and every personal struggle that occurred during their lives. Their work has been and still is considered one of the most important in the context of modern Slovak poetry. At the beginning of this road movie documentary Peter leaves Offenbach am Main to meet Ivan in Bratislava and to embark together on a journey to Liptovsky Mikulas, to see the other Ivan. On their trip, they meet good friends and visit old places that have a connection to their story. These meetings uncover the fascinating story of Lonely Runners. It is a film about Lonely Runners, with Lonely Runners, made with the contribution of Lonely Runners. It´s a story of an inspirational friendship.
