    • Synopsis
    • With the start of summer in Murcia, Lionel receives some news: when he turns 26, he will lose the orphan's pension he has been living on since the death of his mother, Marisol.
With messy hair, marked charisma and a hidden sensitivity, Lionel finds himself in a moment of uncertainty about the future of his life, together with the loneliness of a life far from his family, which he fills with his friends, precarious jobs and the neighbourhood. His sister Alicia left for France a few years ago in search of a future as a teacher. With his father, almost absent and far from the paternal prototype, he has a complicated relationship based on provocations and reproaches. The only thing they share is the name: Lionel.
While his friends start to leave the neighborhood for the vacations, his father reappears with a crazy proposal: to travel by car to France to visit Alicia and continue to the Côte d'Azur, where his father was born, to attend the tribute of his uncle who died two years ago. Under the heat of the Murcian summer and in an unconscious longing to be reunited with his father, Lionel decides to get in as co-pilot and accompany him on the trip. A road odyssey where problems between Lionel and his father soon appear. The father's reckless attitude and his constant self-destruction clash with Lionel's personality, and he repeatedly reconsiders returning home.
The reunion with Alicia opens up old frictions: Alicia is a source of pride for her father, while he has only criticism for Lionel. Alicia and her father speak to each other in French, which makes Lionel feel out of place. Alicia has decided to turn the page of her past, and accepts her father as he is, while Lionel tries to control him.
Alicia joins as the third passenger on a trip to the Côte d'Azur, a journey into the father's past, where the family
begins to open up. Excited at the prospect of returning to Toulon and meeting up with old friends, the father proudly begins to share anecdotes from his youth. However, he is soon overwhelmed by the shame of memories he had tried to bury and grief as the loss of his brother, the only person who loved him unconditionally. Unable to cope, he will, for the first time in many years, turn to his family for support. Lionel discovers that his father longs for the same thing he does: to be together and to overcome his grief.
The journey has come to an end, it is time to return home. Alice returns to the north of France and both Lionel drive back to Murcia, but this time it is the son who takes the wheel. Once home, they say goodbye awkwardly and with uncertainty. The next day, Lionel hears an insistent horn. It is his father, who has come to pick him up.
