- Synopsis
- The pastor of Gryon finds a naked corpse on the altar of her church, arms spread, eyeballs gouged out of their sockets, throwing the little village, high in the French-speaking Alps, into turmoil. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness? reads the accompanying note. As Inspector Andreas Auer’s investigation proceeds, the series of macabre and ritualized acts of vengeance continues to unfold.
