    • Synopsis
    • In 1998, in the midst of a struggle against the installation of an electric power line from the hydroelectric power stations of the Bolivar state to the border with Brazil, the German plastic artist Wolfgang von Schwarzenfeld, in the vicinity of the community of Santa Cruz de Mapurí (Bolivar State), extracts a 30-ton stone of jasper to be exhibited in Berlin at the Global Stone project in the Tiergarten park. The stone Kueka, is a rock that forms part of the sacred mythology and of the founding legends of Pemon culture. This stone was extracted without consent of the Pemon community to be exhibited. With more than 19 years of diplomatic processes, negotiations, talks, meetings, the Pemón people still struggle for their return. Kueka When the stones speak is a documentary that shows the different faces of bureaucratic processes, the different characters who struggle, meet, meet and even mock the feelings of belonging of a whole people. It is a cinematographic proposal of the repetitive cycles of the poles of politics.
