- The original comic by Makoto Ojiro (serialized in Weekly Big Comic Spirits by Shogakukan since 2019) is now coming onto a screen as a live-action movie directed by female director Chihiro Ikeda, known for the movie Tokyo Rendezvous (2008). Along with the already announced animated film of the same comic, it is inevitable that Insomniacs After School will sweep all over Japan.
  Insomniacs after school is set in Nanao City in Ishikawa Prefecture, where the coming-of-age story starts when two insomniac high schoolers, Ganta Nakami and Isaki Magari, meet each other as Ganta ditches helping with a school festival preparation and sneaks into a storeroom that used to be an observatory.
  Its TV anime series is produced by LIDENFILMS and is announced to air in 2023. Directed by a young and enthusiastic director Yuki Ikeda, it is already highly anticipated by anime fans.
