- Synopsis
- In the 1930s the United States knew war with Japan was inevitable but because of treaty limitations it could not build fortifications in the Pacific. Japan on the other hand was ravaging China.
  
  To build the bases the US Navy needed at Pearl Harbor, Midway, Wake, Guam and the Philippines it went to Pan American Airways to covertly build military bases as "commercial" bases.
