    • 2020. A group of Senegalese lawyers is calling for a review of the 1963 political trial to shed light on an obscure moment in African independence. They question the official version of the writing of history, which was written by the winner. Indeed, Valdiodio N'Diaye, hero of the independence of Senegal is unjustly accused of having fomented a coup d'état alongside the President of the Council Mamadou Dia. They are heavily condemned. Direct witnesses, the former President of the Republic of Senegal, Abdoulaye Wade and Robert Badinter, both lawyers at the 1963 trial, and even the Attorney General Ousmane Camara, all unanimously recount the masquerade of the procedure orchestrated by President Senghor, who with the complicity of France, eliminated a team judged to be too "sovereignist". We discover with astonishment the prison of Kédougou, in the depths of Senegal, where these elites were forced into isolation for 12 long years, a relentlessness that does not correspond to the image that Senghor gave himself, by defending the humanist values of Negritude. Will the trial be reviewed?
