A young brother and sister venture out looking for the life saving oxygen tank to save their dying mother, as their absent father is on the run from the police hunting dissidents.

In the mountains, a group of deserters lost in the mist head for the border to escape, while a young couple in the haze of drugs sings a lullaby that they broadcast at night hoping that someone outside will hear them.
