    • Synopsis
    • Stanley Burden is the only black executive at his job and he’s on the verge of a mental breakdown. So, in order to cope, he seeks help from a local drug dealer who provides him with “The Pill”, which shields him from racism throughout the day with the soothing tunes of Rhythm & Blues, for eight hours.
While back at home, Stanley realizes his son, Jeremy, is experiencing racism of his own at school. This prompts him to set up Jeremy with his own set of pills. But, he has to keep it a secret. The following day, the matriarch of the family, Monica Burden, notices a new type of bond between father and son and gets suspicious. Eventually, she persuades Jeremy to tell her what is going on.
Monica approaches Stanley and is bothered that she wasn’t in on this as well. Stanley, defensive at first, is pleasantly surprised by it all. He indulges her as well with her own set of Pills and together, the three of them, navigate their days with a variety of tunes to soothe them from racism.
