    • Synopsis
    • Martin, an iconoclast photographer, is seduced by several images sent by his friend, movie director Jacques. Jacques is in Romania shooting a documentary about the three pivital moments in the life of Romanian peasants: baptism, wedding and funeral. Martin comes to Romania to help his friend and here he falls in love at first sight with Irina, a mute. The filming of the first two episodes of the trilogy are uneventful, but things become quite different for the third episode. Because there are no recent deaths in the village, the team decides to stage a funeral. In their burlesque game they involve the superstitious villagers, who end up brutally rejecting the relationship between the two lovers, Irina and Martin. Back in France, Jaques adds a commentary to his documentary, which portrays the film from the perspective of the iconodule world he filmed
