    • Abidjan’s MACA prison is one of the most overcrowded in West Africa. Black Beard, a prisoner, is old and sick, and his rule is being threatened. To hold onto power, he resorts to the “story” ritual, during which one prisoner must tell stories for an entire night. The young pickpocket he chooses is not a storyteller, but he is haunted by the tale of Zama King.
