- Synopsis
- The action of the film takes place immediately after the end of the Second World War in Gornji Jaukovac, a typical small village somewhere in Serbia. The president of the National Council schemes together with the peasants, while think up different ways through which to avoid the obligatory sale of wheat and other state duties. In the district, they decide to replace him as he is considered to be a “Menshevik”. However, he succeeds in escaping this situation successfully…While catching fish with hand grenades; he comes upon an unexploded bomb left over from the war. In attempting to take out the explosive, he is blown to bits…Observing the unwritten rule – never speak ill of the dead - the school in Jaukovac is named after him…
