    • Synopsis
    • Bijoy, a skeptic when it comes to the occult, dismisses the existence of Jinns and Ghosts as mere superstitions. However, his perspective is challenged when his students bring his attention to a newspaper article detailing the case of Mona, the daughter of a village Shaman, who is reported to be possessed by an Imam from the local mosque and his ten students. One night, Alek, Mona's father, is awakened by strange voices emanating from Mona's room. Upon investigation, he discovers multiple versions of Mona, each claiming to have someone either under or above her bed. Recognizing the signs of Jinn involvement, Alek, the village's exorcist, realizes that there is more to these occurrences than meets the eye.
In order to debunk the belief in Jinns and ghosts, Bijoy decides to visit the village along with his students Shumon, Himi, and Samina. Samina, a native of the village, is the daughter of Altaf, the local council chairman. Initially, when they meet Mona, everything appears normal. She seems like an ordinary thirteen-year-old girl who is understandably frightened by the situation. However, as they are about to leave the village, their car suddenly breaks down, forcing them to stay overnight until they can find a suitable car mechanic.
To pass the time, they decide to have a bar-b-que party at Mona's house. However, amidst the laughter and singing, something inexplicable occurs. Mona's mother is pushed to the ground, followed by an attack on Altaf. In a desperate attempt to save herself, Mona drags Altaf to a nearby pond, intending to kill him. It is only when Altaf's cell phone, which has the ringtone of Surah Yunus, begins to ring that Mona's actions abruptly cease. The recitation of Surah Yunus acts as a deterrent, and Bijoy and Shumon manage to rescue Altaf and Mona from the pond. Strangely, once Mona regains consciousness, she has no recollection of the incident.
This incident shakes Bijoy's firm belief that Jinns and Ghosts do not exist. Seeking answers and guidance, he reaches out to Elahi, his former professor at Cambridge and a renowned PhD holder in Quran and Islamic studies. Elahi arrives in the village to shed light on the situation. However, as soon as he steps into the scene, the events begin to escalate. Elahi learns from the villagers that Altaf had a troubled past during his youth. In his quest for answers, Elahi questions Mona and manages to summon the Jinn, who possesses Mona in front of him. Elahi seeks to understand the Jinn's motives and the enmity between the Jinn and Altaf. Will the Jinn succeed in exacting revenge on Altaf? Can Elahi save Mona and Altaf from the clutches of the Jinn? The answers to these questions lead to the climactic finale of the movie, "MONA: Revenge of the JINN."
