    • Synopsis
    • Web doc "Generation. War” is dedicated to veteran volunteers of the "Azov" Battalion who fought in the Russian-Ukrainian war from 2015 to 2017 and returned to fight during the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022. This is not a story about the military conflict in Ukraine, but about how war changes people's destinies. About those who became a veteran at the age of 19, about a generation that has changed forever.
The films will include the shooting of unique chronicle material and the present. We are currently continuing filming. As well as recording interviews with those around Azovstal in Mariupol and other hotspots. We have exceptional material that creates the effect of reading a book about the siege in the first person, shot by our characters from the environment and battles. Some of our characters have already died.

The history of this project began in 2015 when the director first came to Mariupol to the base of the Azov Volunteer Regiment.
For four years, the director came and recorded various stages of the company's life. The base in Mariupol resembled a camp from childhood, but for adults, where instead of toys - weapons. A separate world, a microcosm, was formed there. This is the world of young boys who grew up with the war.
With each arrival, different fighters who fought in the battalion were caught on camera. Young, and cheerful with their stories and curious situations. We go on dates with them in Mariupol, order pizza at the base, and listen to stories about girls. Our characters will lose friends in the war and each of them will experience it in their way.
They are volunteers who called themselves soldiers and wanted to die like soldiers. They were feared by the Russians, if they were taken prisoner, they were not left alive. The battalion was based on football fans and patriots.
