    • Synopsis
    • Saya is somewhat “tone deaf” when it comes to love. As a new employee for a major hotel company, she spends her days learning the trade under the tutelage of a promising young executive-in-waiting who is the prize catch for every other female in the company. But to Saya, her boss has one major flaw. He’s cold and callous, chastising her every move with “Numbskull!” or “Dog brain!” So imagine her utter surprise when he asks her out! Tsuge’s moments of kindness and compassion during their off hours together gradually begin to win Saya’s heart. But she faces plenty of competition, most notably from Shiori, the spoiled, man-devouring daughter of the company president with the power to make or break Tsuge’s career. Meanwhile, Saya’s heart is set reeling when she is reunited with her first crush, Haruki, now a hugely popular actor. Intense personalities, fervent ambitions and emotional entanglements send this love battle careening toward a grandiose finale.

The film stars two popular contemporary screen and television actors in Emi Takei of Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno (’14) and Love for Beginners (‘12) as Saya, and Tadayoshi Okura of Crying 100 Times: Every Raindrop Falls (’13) and Green Sentai Ranger (’12) as her hazing boss, Tsuge. The two dynamic stars deftly inhabit their individualistic roles and produce a unique on-screen chemistry. The film is adapted from hugely successful women’s comic, “CLOVER”, dubbed as the “office love bible.” The same staff and crew that set audience heartbeats racing with Love for Beginners takes it up a notch with a surprising and moving climax in CLOVER. Get ready for an office romantic comedy at its purest.
