17 year old Bella, wants more out of life than the environment she is in. She lives with her Uncle, a compulsive gambler, since she has always been told that her parents are dead. She longs to fulfill her dreams to become a journalist, but because of her uncle's gambling problem, it makes it impossible for her to go to college. As she watches her best friend go off to school, Bella finds herself unfulfilled and longs to do something about it. Through a powerful underworld friend of her Uncle's she is introduced to a counselor at the local college who becomes her mentor. Eventually she learns the truth of who her parents were and overcoming the odds by turning her reality into a real life fairy tale.
