- Separated by thousands of kilometers, Greece and Portugal, despite their geographical distance, share profound ancestral ties and a host of striking commonalities. Both countries possess extensive coastlines that beckon exploration, offering bounties from the sea and drawing tourists with their natural beauty. Remarkably, well before the time of the Romans, Greek settlers established colonies on the shores of Portugal. In the wake of tumultuous dictatorships, Greece and Portugal embarked on their respective journeys toward democracy in 1974. These two nations also claim the distinction of having the oldest capitals in Europe, with Lisbon's very name being attributed to Ulysses, the heroic figure of Greek mythology featured in Homer's timeless epic, the "Odyssey."
  "United By Waters" is a compelling documentary produced jointly in both countries, providing a captivating glimpse into the daily lives of women hailing from the Mediterranean and the Atlantic regions.   Portugal is a land predominantly made of water where many women from the continent and islands depend on the Ocean, rivers and streams for their survival. At distant points, with different physical and intellectual activities, much unites these women. That´s what we intend to show.
