- Synopsis
- Over the Kitchen Table recounts the largely unknown history of the battered women's movement of the 1980s. Started as a grassroots effort in Tulsa, Oklahoma the founders were primarily LGBTQ, BIPOC, and formerly abused women who banded together across racial and economic divides. They faced tremendous backlash and unbelievable persecution to set up systems for protection. This is a missing piece of our history that needs to not be erased as we continue to fight for justice for women today.
